Peoples Management Team (HRM) and employee engagement is on the rise as traditional methods such as compensation, grievance handling, and performance evaluations no longer provide consistent interaction with employees. New trends are emerging as people management teams implement innovative strategies to engage employees on a more regular basis. The relationship between employers and employees has evolved from a purely professional one to a more supportive and friendly dynamic, offering not only career development opportunities but also personal support for individual concerns.
People-Centric Culture
The concept of a people-centric culture is gaining momentum, especially as employee expectations have significantly shifted in the post-COVID era. Workers now prioritize benefits that care for their well-being and life enhancements, seeking more holistic support from their employers (How Work and Employee Expectations Are Changing Post-Pandemic by Simon Brooke). Digital disruption has also played a significant role, as emerging technologies such as AI plays a significant supportive role to transfform custore. A company’s culture represents its personality and is driven by its core values so employees consider company culture more and more when choosing a career.

Work-Life Balance
Work-life balance is no longer solely the responsibility of employees to manage. Organizations are increasingly taking an active role in helping their employees achieve a better balance between their professional and personal lives. Companies are recognizing that supporting employees in this area is crucial for overall well-being and productivity. Initiatives like Parenthrive are designed to support employees in navigating the challenges of parenting and raising children, offering resources and guidance to help them balance their career with family responsibilities. Additionally, flexible working hours and systems that facilitate remote work are among the key developments that have emerged in recent years. These measures not only promote a healthier work-life balance but also demonstrate a company’s commitment to fostering a supportive and accommodating environment for its workforce.
Many employers are taking proactive measures to support their employees' physical and mental well-being. Initiatives like yoga sessions, gym memberships, swimming pools, and discounted schemes for purchasing fitness equipment, such as bicycles and smartwatches, are becoming increasingly common.
Digital channels
Digital channels, particularly social media, have significantly reshaped how individuals communicate and interact. On average, people now spend approximately 143 minutes per day on social media platforms (SOAX, 2024, September 5). This shift has created new opportunities for HRM teams to easily engage with employees, even those working in the same physical location, by utilizing these platforms.
Moreover, internal communication tools like Viva Engage, integrated with Microsoft 365, offer features similar to social media platforms such as Facebook, enabling employees to connect with one another and interact with the HRM team during their daily work routines. These tools facilitate communication, collaboration, and engagement within the organization, fostering a sense of community and support.
In addition, LinkedIn continues to experience rapid growth, becoming the go-to platform for professionals to network, seek job opportunities, and build their career profiles. As more people rely on LinkedIn to advance their careers, HR teams can leverage this platform for recruitment and to establish connections with potential candidates. This growing trend emphasizes the importance of maintaining a robust digital presence for both employees and employers.
